| 26.08.2003 Daphne and Dennis Wenn (Norwich England) Basic hotel but budget price which is what we expected. Slightly shabby, but clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very handy for metro. Disappointed that there is no restaurant for evening meals, but plenty of other restaurants nearby so not a problem. Breakfast simple but adequate, although orange juice not very nice. Only other complaint, only 2 hangers in wardrobe!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a budget holiday. | | |
| 08.08.2003 Helen (Athlone, Ireland) Unlike the other reviews of this hotel, I did not have a good experience staying here. We stayed there for one night in July, when the weather was very warm. The rooms have air conditioning, which is noisy and didn't seem to cool the room at all. The breakfast was defiantly below average. the bread rolls were very hard, orange juice was horrible. The worst thing about the hotel was when we were leaving we asked the receptionist to phone a taxi. The lobby was quiet busy so we sat on one of the couches. The lady behind the desk started to shout 'Taxi' and the people behind us, who were sitting there before us, stood up, and went up to the desk. We presumed that this taxi was for them seeing as they were sitting there longer than us. The receptionist starting screaming 'Taxi' again so we got up. She looked at us, shook her arms, rolled her eyes to heaven and shouted 'GOD', followed by a dirty look. Not the standard farewell you receive from a hotel. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. If we were the only people who are ordered a taxi, she should have remembered who we were and come over to us at the couches, not shouting from behind the desk and disturbing everyone. She was extremely unprofessional in her manner. If you are going to Lisbon for a few nights, I would recommend the Comfort Hotel Embaixador, which is much more comfortable, handy for town, and has staff who have manners, and are friendly and helpful. | | |
