Stayed three nigts. The hotel was suprisingly satisfactory Room were good size, hardly any noise from the street although it is located in the very central Lisboa. Three minutes walk to metro station. The rooms very clean, The staf helpful and friendly. We give it our best recommedation.

I checked in at 1 am. The staff there were friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and well air conditioned. I can, of course, hear the sound of water coming out from taps from the next room, but that's to be expected. Breakfast was nice but started at 7:15 am, making me late for my conference at 8 am. It's quite near the Marques Pombal Metro station (5-10 min walk), great for sight-seeing.

Good, straight-forward, centrally located hotel. Great breakfast in top-floor dining room. A bit more expensive than some residensias or pensions, but very convenient, easy to find and comfortable for first time travelers to Portugal.

We enjoyed our stay (4 nights) in this hotel. Nice people, good service, good buffet breakfast on the 9th floor with a lovely view. The rooms are comfortable, they offers you all you need. They aren't very big, but that isn't necessary in such a beautiful and sunny city, where you live most of the time outside. We liked our stay in this city (and also the hotel) very much. Lisbon and Embaixador were a very good choice!

no-nonsense hotel, good location, just everything you need for a correct price

The hotel is clean, buffet breakfast is good, the standard rooms are a little small (although we could change to a bigger one), people are helpful and friendly, It is well situated within walking distance of the centre of town and on bus and metro routes. I would recommend it.

Since we had to share the hotel the last weekend of February with a group of US youngsters it became clear that the hotel has absolutely no discipline to stop the youngsters in their party time during the night till 0600 AM. I had no sleep at all and could not be efficient to work on the congress that weekend. It is a pitty there the hotel is for what it offers very good. But I will not stay here again Best regards Kees Groenenboom

We stayed in the Comfort Hotel Embaixador, for three nights in July. The hotel is basic but comfortable. There is a nice bar/lounge area. The staff and friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable, there are safes in the room which you can rent. There is also a fridge which acts as the mini bar, which is very handy and it allows you to keep drinks you've bought yourself chilled. Breakfast is the standard bread rolls, cheese and ham, cereal and fruit. The best thing about the hotel is probably its location. You can stroll to the centre of Lisbon in 10 mins along an avenue. Otherwise you can take the metro, there's a station a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Overall, great value, comfortable, great location - ideal for a few nights in Lisbon.

Big, anonymous, and without much of an atmosphere - but good location (via metro and bus you can reach any part of the city in 15 minutes; remember to buy a Lisbon Card!) and reasonably comfortable rooms (air conditioning - very important!).

very nice hotel, nice people who mostly speak good English. Make sure not to get a room on the first 3 floors as the streets can be very noisy. We stayed in room 510 which was at the backside, very comfortable and clean small room. Breakfast was good and served on 9nd floor - magnificent view over the city. Location: close to Subway Station Marques de Pombal.

I usually travel alone, but this time I treated my husband and grandson to Europe! The *** rating was just as expected, it was clean and orderly. The noise from the street, especially the traffic, took a little gettig used to. The staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant upstairs was most accomodating and the food acceptable. The value was as suggested: ***-good hotel.

Found staff to be unhelpful and not as friendly as other hotels' staff, no help with directions etc. Telephone was broken for more than one day and maintenance did not fix for a few days and did not seem to care. Room wasok. Went to restaurant twice but it was closed as it was slow and decided to close 2 hours early.

that it is really a good hotel.

The hotel was nice and conveniently located (about three blocks from the Metro and right by a bus stop with a service to the airport). We were impressed by the extensive breakfast buffet that kept us going for hours. The bathroom was fairly small, even compared to some quite a bit less expensive pensaos where we also stayed while in Portugal. otherwise the room was fine. Service was good (as far as service goes in Portugal)and the clerks at the reception desk spoke English. Not a bad deal.

A very nice hotel

This hotel is a great value for the money and well-located for easy metro access. It was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a reasonably priced, clean hotel, although it's not as "glamorous" as some of the newer ones.

17.09.2002 Impolite Receptionists? (Canada)
I have not stayed here yet and probably would avoid it. I have been trying to reach a friend at the hotel and the receptionist keeps hanging up on me. The first time I lost the connection I thought it was the phone lines. But subsequent calls (at least five times) ended with the same results: the receptionist hung up. I don't know any portugese, but tried a bit of spanish. All my efforts were useless. Anyhows, I am now not able to get in touch with my friend who is staying at this hotel for three more days.

16.09.2002 Judith Norley (Bristol England)
Very reasonably priced hotel. Clean, functional. Smashing breakfast in lovely restaurant - plenty to eat! Would stay again.

16.09.2002 James (London England)
A simple hotel, clean and functional, friendly people and a pleasant stop. Not the most powerful shower in the world and it takes a while to work out that breakfast is entirely self service - including taking your cuttlery - but you get what you pay for!

21.05.2002 Sonya (US)
very nice hotel and a great value. I would certainly recommend it to other travelers.
